How to Install/Uninstall Final Cut Pro

Part 1: How to Install Final Cut Pro

After purchasing Final Cut Pro from the App Store using your registered Apple ID & password, it will be added to your purchases list. Now, follow the tutorial to install it on your computer system.

Step 1: First of all, you need to open the Mac App Store on your computer system. In the Mac App Store toolbar, click the "Purchases" button.

Step2: To download Final Cut Pro from "Purchases" you need to sign in Mac App Store using your Apple ID. The ID should be same to the one you first used while making purchase of Final Cut Pro.

Step3: In the app store, look for Final Cut Pro in the list of purchased applications. If you are unable to find Final Cut Pro X in the list, you need to make sure that it is not hidden.

Step4: Now, click "Install", and then Final Cut Pro will be installed on your computer system. All you need to do is to follow the on-screen instructions.

It will take some time to finish the installation process. After the installation completes, you can simply launch the application and use this wonderful tool to turn your home videos into professional eye-catching movies.

Part 2: How to Uninstall Final Cut Pro

Step1: Go to "Finder" on you Mac screen and choose "Applications" from the "Go" menu.

Step2: From the "Applications", locate the Final Cut Pro application and drag it to the "Trash". It will trash the application directly.

Step3: Now, you need to completely remove the application. In "Finder", hold down the "Option" key and choose "Library" from the "Go" menu.

Step4: In "Library" folder, open "Application Support" folder and move the Final Cut Pro folder to the Trash.

Step5: Now return to the "Library" folder and open the "Caches" folder. Move the "com.apple.FinalCut" folder to the Trash.

Step6: Once previous actions are done, now again return to the "Library" folder and open the "Preferences" folder. Move the following files to the Trash as shown in the screenshot.

→ com.apple.FinalCut.plist
→ com.apple.FinalCut.UserDestinations.plist

This is very simple and quick method which is useful to uninstall and remove Final Cut Pro from your system completely. You can re-install it anytime from the purchases or if you have created the backup, you can re-install it from the backup following the process to backup the Final Cut Pro to your computer system.
